Nun sitze ich hier zu Hause in Österreich in der Wohnung seit Tagen mit einem kranken Kind fest.

Und doch war Weihnachten - immer meine liebste Zeit im Jahr - nochmal extra besonders dieses Jahr.

Der Holde stellte mir nämlich DIE Frage aller Fragen!

Auf Knien mit geöffnetem Ring-Kästchen in der Hand und selbstgeschriebenem Gedicht.

Und ich sagte JA! :-)

I am stuck back home in Austria in the flat with an ill child for days.

But in spite of that this christmas - always my favourite time of the year - was extra special.

Because my love popped THE question of all questions!

Also hat mein Sohn am 6. Dezember sein erstes Nikolo-Sackerl bekommen!

On the 6th of december my son recived his first "Nikolo"-bag. Nikolo is our version of Father Christmas/Santa Claus. He originates from the same legend, the same person, but in our tradition he only brings one small present accompanied by nuts, oranges and sweets on the 6th of december. Traditionally the bag was put in a shoe- the custom goes back to the same origin as the anglo-american stockings.

On Christmas Eve the "christmas child" (baby Jesus) brings the presents (and tree) in Austria!

Aber Raymond scheint noch nicht voll in Weihnachtsstimmung zu sein - diesen Anzug hasst er einfach!

But Raymond does not seem to be in proper Christmas mood yet - he just hates this suit!

Aus der schönen Heimat wieder zurück! Allerdings verweilte ich dort so lange, dass ich nun nicht an der Still-Konferenz ab heute wie geplant teilnehmen kann. Das war nun doch zu knapp. Meine lieben Damen der LLL Runde haben aber trotzdem eine Kleinigkeit mitbekommen, um es dort zugunsten der LLL zu verkaufen!

Back from my beautiful home country! As I stayed longer I unfortunately can't make the breastfeeding conference I was planning to attend from today onwards. It's just too close. But my lovely LLL Ladies were sent off with a little something for the craft fayre there to raise money for the LLL.

Die liebe Dani von BATHINA und ich teilen eine ganz besondere Leidenschaft. Kawaii ♥. HIER eine kleine Begriffs-Erklärung. Beide sind wir regelrecht verliebt in diese - Lebenseinstellung. Bei ihr am Blog ist das auch ganz klar offensichtlich :-).

Die letzten beiden Monate sind einfach - verflogen!

Ein Geburtstag jagte den anderen, meine Schwester war 4 Wochen bei mir und jetzt ist mein Kabel hin - somit habe ich kaum Online-Zeiten!

Ich war aber alles andere als unproduktiv, habe diverse Häkel-Hübschigkeiten :-) zum hochladen!

One birthday followed by the next one, my sister stayed with me for 4 weeks and now my cable is broken so I get hardly any online time!

But I was anything but not productive, I have a lot of prettyful :-) crochet objects to upload!

Aber ich fange mit diesen wunderschönen Puschen (Patschen, oder zu deutsch - Hausschuhe :-)) an! Ich habe sie für unsere kleine Freundin Naida zu ihrem 1. Geburtstag anfertigen lassen, das Design wurde auf meinen Wunsch wunderbar verarbeitet! Der Kontakt ist ganz reizend und die Lieferung erfolgte prompt!

Für mein eigenes kleines Monster ist dieses alienartige Ding entstanden - ich bin auf jenes Muster - hier klicken - gestossen und mir gefiel es so gut, dass ich gleich drauf loshäkelte. Und dann bin ich erst drauf gekommen, dass dies eigentlich eine Figur namens Muno aus einer Kindersendung namens Yo Gabba Gabba ist. Amerikanisch und somit kenne ich es nicht :-)

For my own little monster I made this alienesque thing - I found this pattern - click here - and I liked it so much that I started crocheting and only then I realised that this is a character called Muno from a kids programme called Yo Gabba Gabba. It's American, therefore I don't know it :-)

Um diese Uhrzeit vor einem Jahr war dein Daddy komplett k.o. und ich high vom Hormoncocktail - und du mein Kind, gerade ein paar Stunden auf der Welt, nachdem du im Pool in unserem Wohnzimmer geboren wurdest, schliefst friedlich auf mir wie ein kleiner Wurm und glücklich von meiner Brust trinkend. Und heute ein Jahr später sind dein Daddy und ich beide k.o. nach diesem schönem Tag, deinem 1. Geburtstag und du schläfst friedlich neben mir, wie ein grosser Wurm und glücklich von meiner Brust trinkend.

Es war ein Wahnsinns-Jahr, ich habe soviel gelernt, ich habe soviel gelacht, ich habe soviel geweint (diese Hormone) und ich habe soviel geliebt. Danke, dass du in meinem Leben bist, mein kleiner Schatz.

Ich wünsche dir nochmal alles Gute mein kleiner Petzi!

At this time a year ago your Daddy was completely shattered and I was high on a hormone cocktail - and you my child were just a few hours old after I gave birth to you in the pool in our living room, you slept peacefully like a little caterpillar on my chest and drank happily from my breast. And today one year later both your Daddy and I are completely shattered after this wonderful day, your 1st birthday and you are peacefully asleep next to me like a big caterpillar and happily drinking from my breast.

It was an amazing year, I have learned so much, I have laughed so much, I have cried so much (those hormones) and I have loved so much. Thank you for being in my life my little darling.

Ich zähle die Tage bis zum ersten Geburtstag meines Kindes! Am Donnerstag ist es soweit und ich bin soooooooo aufgeregt! So aufgeregt wegen einem Geburtstag war ich zuletzt als Kind! :-)

I am counting the days til my child's first birthday! The big day is this Thursday and I am sooooooo excited! The last time I was that excited about a birthday was when I was a kid myself! :-)

Heute wurde im ganzen Land zum BIG LUNCH aufgerufen, überall sollte man sich in der Nachbarschaft sammeln und gemeinsam essen - um die Community zu fördern. Also war auch in unserer Strasse heute Strassenfest und unsere Seite (Hausnummern mit gerader Zahl :-)) waren für die Beilagen verantwortlich. Und bei sowas erwacht immer die Österreicherin in mir. Gurken-Rahmsalat mit steirischem Kernöl!

Zwar bin ich keine Steirerin, aber dank meines Papas immer gut mit Kernöl versorgt! :-)

Rezept

2 mittelgrosse Gurken in dünne Scheiben schneiden

salzen und 20 Minuten stehen lassen

Flüssigkeit rausdrücken und pfeffern

Mit 500ml Sauerrahm und Kernöl (nach Geschmack) vermischen.

Schon fertig und mundet auch den Engländern!

Nationwide there was everywhere a BIG LUNCH going on - poeple in neighbourhoods gathered to have lunch together - to encourage neighbourly community! So we too had a streetparty in our lovely street and our side of the street (the even house numbers :-)) were responsible for the side dishes. Events like these awaken the Austrian in me and I really wanted to bring something typically Austrian.

Cucumber salad with soured cream and - very very Austrian - Styrian pumpkinseed oil!

Though I am no Styrian my beloved Dad keeps me going with the seed oil :-)

Recipe

Slice two average to big cucumbers thinly

Salt and let it stand for 20 minutes

Squeeze out the liquid and season with pepper

Mix in 500ml of soured cream and the pumpkin oil (to taste)

Finished and even the English liked it!

Wieder einen Tag zu spät, diesmal aber nicht, weil ich vergessen habe, sondern weil mein Internet derzeit spinnt. Funktioniert meistens ab 22:30 nicht mehr. Ich glaub ich hab nen Virus, nen Virus gegen den Muttermilch nicht hilft! :-))

Again a day late but this time not because I forgot but my internet is going crazy at the moment, On most days it stops working around half past ten. I think I got a virus, a virus breastmilk won't help with! :-)))

Gestern hatte ich mein lila Kleid, schwarze Leggins, gemütliche lila Schuhe und mein allerliebstes Lieblings-Halstuch mit Sternen drauf an!

Yesterday I wore my purple dress, black leggins, comfy purple shoes, and my most favourite scarf with stars on it!

....am 13., weil ich ein Hirn wie ein Nudelsieb habe. Seit Monaten will ich mitmachen, diesen Monat habe ich die Tage gezählt - und ich vergesse es erst recht! Also heute nachgeholt, aber das Wetter war nicht sehr fotofreundlich und nichts spannendes haben wir erlebt. Ausserdem ist meine verklärte Sichtweise - ich sehe nahezu NUR mein Kind - eventuell etwas einseitig :-)

...on the 13th because I have a mushy brain. For months I want to take part, this month I even counted the days - and forget it on top of that! So I'll just catch up today, but the weather wasn't very photo-friendly and we didn't do anything exciting. Furthermore my clouded views - I nearly ONLY see my child - may be a bit one-sided :-)

Nachholbedarf/Catch-up

Vor laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanger Zeit, nämlich im Jänner bereits, habe ich von Karls Mami hier ein Stöckchen zugeworfen bekommen - ist ja mittlerweile ein alter Hut, aber ich wollte nie so unhöflich sein und es ignorieren, hatte damals PC-Schwierigkeiten und dann hab ich es vergessen!

Das 4. Bild aus meinem 4. Ordner ist Raymond's kleine Freundin Jessica - im Jänner bei uns zu Besuch und seinen damals brandneuen Hochstuhl erstmals ausprobierend!

Das 2. Stöckchen war von Julia von Treesign - hier - das 5. Bild im 5. Ordner.

Jenes Bild ist vom Monat Mai - ein Schmetterling im Schmetterlingspark - den ich mit Jessicas Mami und natürlich Jessica und Raymond besuchte!

Viel spannender wären aber das 8., 9. und 10, Foto gewesen - denn Ray und ich waren mutig und haben eine echte Schlange gestreichelt!

Watcha Wearing Wednesday I

Seit Wochen beobachte ich schon in sämtlichen Blogs dieses wunderbare neue Spiel! Jetzt will ich auch mitmachen! Dachte mir es soll eine gute Inspiration sein, kleidungstechnisch wieder zu mir zu finden, da die frühere extrem buntige Pia, der praktischen jungen Mutter Platz gemacht hat. Aber es wird wieder, auch stilltaugliche Kleidung findet man bunt :-)

For weeks I have been observing this wonderful new game on many blogs! Now I want to take part too! I thought it should be a good inspiration to find myself again when it comes to clothes as the very colourful Pia of former times made room for the practical new mum. But I'm getting there again and there's even colourful breastfeeding compatible clothes out there! :-)

Gestern war mein grünes Glücksbärchi-Shirt über rotem Still-Shirt (Langarm, da wieder kühl!) dran!

Yesterday I was sporting my green care bear shirt layered over a red breastfeeding top (long sleeved as it is chilly again!)

Seltsame Perspektive - oder sind meine Füsse wirklich soooo klein? :-)

Weird perspective - or are my feet really THAT small? :-)

Aber am liebsten trage ich dieses Accessoire - derzeit am liebsten im Ergo Carrier, habe aber gestern kein Bild gemacht, da ich überall hin geeilt bin (wie immer also :-))!

But my favourite accessory to wear is this one - at the moment I love the Ergo Carrier but I didn't take a piccie yesterday as I was rushing about everywhere (as always :-))!

Self advertising on the internet!
MySpace - yes I've been there, done that, burned the T-shirt.
Facebook - yes I've been there aswell and I've done that - and I am still!
So do I really need a blog? Well the world has never enough of me I have just decided! Who am I talking to? So far no one will read this apart from 2 other people I know with blogs on here :-) Do I keep writing in English even though my mothertounge is so österreichisch und nix anderes? Well posting in both languages I guess is even too much for me.
We'll see!

Anyway before my sweet other half comes home and demands his legitimate place in front of the computer I will post my creative outbursts.
This week I can only offer my bright red and very healthy looking
valentines cake - which I obviously made yesterday.

Unfortunately the previous years have seen more precision in my valentines baking!

Most important it had to be RED! :-)

And it was yummy!

Neuer Hausbewohner/New house mate

Ich habe euch eigentlich noch gar nicht von unserem neuen Mitbewohner erzählt!

Seit doch 2 Wochen haben wir ein kleines Kätzchen - ein Katerchen, der nun den Namen Milo trägt!

I haven't told you yet about our new house mate!

For 2 weeks already we have an itty bitty kitty - a little tomcat we called Milo!

Milo ist ein ziemlich lebhaftes kleines Ding!

Milo is quite a feisty little thing!

Sie spielen so süss miteinander - und sie bleiben sich nichts schuldig die beiden! :-)

They play so lovely with each other - and they hold up to each other! :-)

In zwei Wochen bei uns ist das Kätzchen meist dort wo wir sind und stellt irgendwas an - wenn nicht er, dann sein "Komplize".... :-)

In two weeks with us the kitty is most of the time there where we are and causes havoc - if not him then his "accomplice"... :-)

Beide Babies dürfen das nicht - aber sie sind so schnell und einer der beiden Jungs kann den Kühlschrank öffnen....

Both babies are so not allowed to do that - but they are both so quick and one of the boys can open the fridge...

Er ist schon so gewachsen!

He has grown so much already!

Und Raymond findet es einfach köstlich, wenn ich das Kätzchen schimpfe und NEIN! sage! :-)

And Raymond finds it hilarious when I tell the kitty off and say NO! to him! :-)

Zu heiss zum bloggen/Too hot to blog

Hier in UK sind wir ja nicht gerade an diese "tropischen" Hitzen gewöhnt!

Es ist ca. genauso heiss wie in Mitteleuropa derzeit, windstill und am überraschendsten - es regnet nicht! Und das schon seit Tagen! Aber anstatt mich wirklich darüber zu freuen jammere ich über die Hitze - jetzt ist mir zu heiss, es ist absolut unerträglich im Haus und das Kind kann ich ja nicht die ganze Zeit der Sonne exponieren!

Here in the UK we are not used to this "tropical" heat!

It's about as hot here as in middle Europe at the moment, no wind and most surprising - no rain! For quite a few days already! But instead of being happy about this I moan about the heat - now I'm too hot, it is absolutely unbearable in the house and I can't expose the child to the sun all day!

So ein Planschbecken (im Fliegenpilz-Look natürlich) ist schon was tolles
