Im Geburtstagspapier (für Junior nehme ich an :-))!

Ganz viele Sockerln - welche ich dringend brauchte - und sogar 3 Paar dabei, die dann wohl in 2 Jahren oder so aktuell werden! Ebenso ein blauer Body und ein paar Pflegeprodukte!

And yesterday the announced parcel from my friend Kathi finally arrived!

Wrapped in Happy Birthday paper (because of Juniors Birthday I suppose :-))!

Many little socks - which I still desperately needed - and even 3 pair which I can use in about 2 years or so! Also there was a blue babyvest and some body care products!

Grosse Überraschung!!/Big surprise!!

Gestern habe ich voller Erwartung zwei Pakete von der Post geholt – hatte Tees bestellt und eine liebe Freundin hat vor einer Woche eine Überraschung weggeschickt.
Also öffnete ich zuerst mal das erwartete Tee-Paket und schnupperte daran und musste dann über den Adressaten des anderen Pakets schmunzln – war an meinen Junior adressiert! Als ich das Paket dann zum öffnen umdrehte hab ich plötzlich den Absender gesesehen! Eine andere Freundin hatte dies geschickt – nun das war aber diesmal eine wirkliche und ganz besondere Überraschung!

Im Paket war ein Massage-Öl für mich und ein Päckchen in wunderbaren Papier eingewickelt! Da drinnen war eine lustige Karte, ein cooler Schnuller mit Totenkopf und dazupassendem Clipband UND eine total süsse Fliegenpilzgarderobe für kleine Jackerln!

Yesterday I picked up two parcels from the post office full of anticipation – as I ordered some teas and I knew a dear friend sent off a surprise last week.So I opened first the tea parcel and had a little sniff and then had to smile at the addressee line as it was addressed to my Junior! And when I turned the parcel round to open it I suddenly discovered the sender! A very different friend has sent this one – so that was really a big and very special surprise!

In the parcel was a massaging oil for me and a present wrapped in lovely paper! Inside was a funny card, a cool dummy with a skull with a matching clip AND a supercute toadstool-wardrobe for tiny jackets!

Ich liebe Post II/I love mail II

Gestern als ich nach Hause kam hat mich wiedermal ein Paket erwartet - diesmal ein ganz grosses! Meine liebe Grosstante hat mir einen Stillpolster geschickt! Sowas tolles gibt es hier nämlich nicht - also so einen grossen mit den angenehmen Perlen drinnen! Es gibt ähnliches - aber halt doch nicht sowas! :-)

Das Kissen und ich haben fast das ganze Bett eingenommen - sehr zu Ryans Entsetzen - ha ha ha.

Coming home yesterday there was another parcel expecting me - this time a big one! My dear great aunt sent me a nursing pillow! Such a wonderful thing you don't get here - not this size filled with the comfortable pearls! There are similiar products - but not quite the same!

The pillow and me took over nearly the entire bed - very much to Ryans horror - ha ha ha.

Dem Kissen beigelegt war auch dieses wunderbare Batterl (Lätzchen - für meine deutschen Leserinnen :-)) - jemand wusste wohl wie gerne ich Erdbeeren überall mag!

Enclosed with the pillow was also this fantastic bib - someone must have known how much I love strawberrys everywhere!

Und ich habe auch ein Täschchen vor ein paar Tagen erstanden. Habe mich entschieden eine einfache Tasche zur Wickeltasche umzufunktionieren - einen Wickelrucksack brauche ich trotzdem noch für die Spaziergänge.

Und siehe da was finde ich - die perfekte Tasche! Ist eine grosse Kosmetiktasche - also weitgehend aus Plastik (aussen so öliger Stoff) ergo einfach zum abwischen, hat ganz viele Fächer innen drinnen zum Dinge sicher verstauen und am allerbesten - ist rot, schwarz, weiss UND gepunktet! :-)

And I bought a bag a few days ago. I decided to convert a simple bag to a nappy changing bag - I still need a changing back pack for going for walks though.

And there you go - I find the perfect bag! It's a big vanity case - mainly made from a oily plastic fabric - so easy to wipe and on the inside it has lots of compartmens for storing stuff - and the best of all it is red, black, white AND has polkadots! :-)

Das Innenleben hat sogar ein Klippband in welches ich einfach perfekt eine Reise-Wickelmatte reinklippen kann!

The inside even has a strap with a clip - absolutely perfect to strap in a travel changing mat!

Ein kleines Pilztäschen und Fruchtiges/A little toadstoolbag and fruity stuff

Hier ein Experiment mit einer dickeren Häkelnadel - ein Geburtstagsgeschenk für die Tochter einer Arbeitskollegin, denn jedes kleine Mädchen braucht eine Handtasche - und das am besten natürlich in Fliegenpilzoptik :-)

Das Muster ist von mir selber - aber mit Inspiration eines anderen Musters, welches ich demnächst mal posten werde.

Here an experiment with a bigger crochet hook - a birthday present for the daughter of a work colleague because every little girl needs a handbag - especially one in toadstool-style :-)

The pattern I made up myself - but with inspiration from a different pattern which I will post at a later point.

Unser Babybett wurde mit einem ganz einfach blauen Nestchen geliefert - das schreit einfach nach Farbe!

Our babybed was delivered with a simple blue bumper - it literally cries out for some colour!

Die Stoffe hab ich euch ja schon gezeigt - und dazwischen werde ich selbstgehäkelte Früchte aufnähen. Noch habe ich das Projekt nicht gestartet, da wir ja bald umziehen und das Bett noch nicht an unseres montiert ist. Sobald ich es dann aufgestellt ausmessen kann, wird auch die Nähnadel gezückt!

Das Muster für die Wassermelone findet ihr hier, alle anderen entspringen meiner eigenen Nadel - auf die Erdbeere bin ich übrigens besonders stolz :-)

The fabrics I have already shown you - and inbetween I want to apply fruits I crocheted. I didn't start the project yet as we are going to move soon so the bed is not yet attached to ours. But as soon as this is done out comes the tapemeasure and the needle!

The pattern for the watermelon you find here, all the others I made up myself - I'm very proud of the strawberry! :-)

Ich liebe Post!/I love mail!

Bin gerade nach Hause gekommen und es erwartete mich mein bestelltes Päckchen Mullwindeln!

Zu meiner Zeit waren nur fade weisse erhältlich - und meine waren kleiner! Ich dachte kurz ans selber färben, hab aber dann beschlossen ich mache auch ohne Farbspritzer schon genügend Sauerei :-)

Aber ich musste aus Nostalgiegründen auch zwei weisse bestellen - für mich heisst dieses Tuch ZUPFI, welches ich liebevoll immer bei mir hatte. Für Ryan heisst es GIGI oder GAG - wir sind schon gespannt, ob unser Sohnemann unsere Ausdrücke übernimmt oder selbst kreativ wird!

I just came home and my ordered muslin squares arrived!

When I was little you could only get boring white ones - and mine were a lot smaller! For a short time I considered colouring them myself but then I decided even without splashing colour I make enough mess already :-)

But I also needed to order 2 plain white ones because I felt nostalgic - to me this cloth is called ZUPFI which I carried lovingly everywhere with me. For Ryan it's a GIGI or a GAG - we are excited if our little boy will take over our expressions or if he will come up with something else!

Geschichten vom Blutdruck und eine liebe Überraschung/Stories about blood pressure and a lovely surprise

Gestern Abend hatte ich eine ganz seltsame Wallung - konnte kaum atmen und bin hochrot angelaufen, aber mir war gar nicht heiss. Und dann bekam ich auch noch seltsames Druck-Kopfweh. Ist ja alles als normales Schwangeren-Symptyom zu erklären, wenn da nicht die Hysterie um meinen Blutdruck wäre. Also haben wir die Geburten-Abteilung im Spital angerufen (es war ca. 22 Uhr am Abend) und die meinten sofort kommen eben wegen der Vorgeschichte mit dem Blutdruck.
War ja alles nur halb so schlimm! Blutdruck war wieder weniger als das letzte Mal bei der Hebamme - und das obwohl ich so hysterisch aufgeregt war!

Zwar an der oberen Grenze - aber noch normal. Sie haben mich auch fast eine Stunde an das CTG angeschlossen - Baby ging es wunderbar. War sehr schön so lange das Herzchen schlagen zu hören!
Ich war sehr erfreut wie ernst man mich genommen hatte – das ist ja nicht so gegeben in diesem Land hier UND sogar ein Dr. kam und hat sich nett um mich gekümmert!

Weniger schön war im Nebenraum eine gebärende Dame, die über eine Stunde lang mit jeder Wehe gebrüllt und gewimmert hat. Ryan sind vor Angst fast die Augen aus dem Kopf gefallen! Und ich hab fast beschlossen doch kein Kind zu kriegen! ha ha ha
Mir ist nur die ganze Zeit meine Mutter im Kopf herumgeschwirrt, die bei jeder Geburt im Fernsehen immer selbsbewusst sagte "Ich habe nie geschrien" - ich war bei einer ihrer Geburten dabei (bei zweien, wenn man meine mitrechnet :-)) und kann das bis auf einen End-Schrei ausgenommen bezeugen.
Dachte schon ich hätte Albträume von der schreienden Dame! Hatte ich nicht, konnte aber trotzdem nicht schlafen und habe mir heute freigenommen!

Last night I had a strange flush – could hardly breathe and my face went all bright red even though I wasn’t hot. And then I had a weird pressure like headache. I guess these are all normal pregnancy symptoms if there wouldn’t be all the hysterics about my blood pressure. So we decided to ring the maternity ward (it was about 10 pm) and they told us to come in straight away because of the blood pressure history.
It wasn’t bad at all! My blood pressure was again lower than at the last midwifes appointment even though I was so hysterically stressed! It was at the upper end of normal – but normal. And they connected me for nearly an hour to the CTG machine – Baby was doing beautifully! It was wonderful to hear his heartbeat for so long!
I was really happy that they took me so serious – this is not always standard in this country AND I even saw a Dr.!

Not so nice was a woman in labour in the room next door. She screamed and whimpered with every contraction for over an hour! Ryan looked so scared that his eyes nearly popped out! And I nearly decided not to have this baby! Ha ha ha
The whole time I had my mother in my head who always at every birth on TV proudly stated “I never screamed” – I was there at one birth (well 2 if you count my own :-)) and I can confirm this apart from one scream at the end. I thought I’m going to have nightmares about that screaming lady! I didn’t but I couldn’t really sleep so I took the day off!

Letzte Woche ist auch mein Bett gekommen! Hatte ich ganz vergessen zu berichten!
Meine liebe Omi kaufte mir dieses!
Und ich habe beschlossen das einfach blaue Nestchen etwas zu pimpen – da ich keine Nähmaschine habe werde ich kein neues Nestchen machen, sondern dieses eben aufmotzen! Die Resourcen an schönen Stoffen sind hier etwas dünn, aber diese habe ich trotzdem gefunden!

Last week my bed came! I forgot to tell!
My lovely grandmother bought me this one.
And I decided to brush up the simple baby-blue bedding – as I don’t have a sewing machine I won’t make a new bedding but I’ll just revamp this one! The sources for beautiful fabrics are not really plentiful around here but I still found these!

So eine Überraschung!/What a surprise!

In dem Strickheft sind wirklich süsse Dinge drinnen und ich hab mich schon nadelklimpernd werken sehen - aber im Moment verstehe ich nur Bahnhof. Vielleicht sollt ich wirklich einen Strickkurs machen. Fragt sich nur wo in der Gegend hier?

In the knitting guide are beautiful ideas and I've already seen myself clonking the needles together - but at the moment it's all greek to me. Maybe I should really attend a knitting course. Only where in this area here?

Hei ho hei ho

Ich hatte gerade meine erste Yoga-Session mit Pepe für ihre Fallstudie.

Ich kann mich grad selbst so gar nicht verstehen warum ich solange mit Yoga pausiert habe - ich alter Faulsack!! Es ist so angenehm und relaxend!

Auch wenn Schwangerschafts-Yoga nicht mit normalem Yoga zu vergleichen ist - so fühle ich mich jetzt doch ganz wunderbar!

So im normalen Leben ist mir mein Bauch noch gar nicht im Weg - doch heute bei manchen Positionen war das doch ganz eindeutig anders! :-)

Vor ein paar Tagen konnte ich nicht widerstehen und hab mehr oder weniger die erste Zimmerdeko für Juniors Zimmer gekauft (welches er noch länger nicht haben und auch noch nicht brauchen wird :-)) - die ersten Zwerge für meinen Zauberwald!

I just had my first yoga session with Pepe for her case study.

I really don't understand why I have stopped yoga for so long -me the old lazy bum!! It's so lovely and relaxing!

Though you can't really compare pregnancy yoga with normal yoga - I still feel wonderful right now!

In normal life my belly is not in the way at all yet - but today with a few positions I could certainly feel this is different! :-)

A few days ago I couldn't resist and bought more or less the first decoration for Junior's room (which he won't get and won't need for another while) - the first dwarves for my enchanted forrest!

Day off

I am at home enjoying my last day off and I hope you all had a nice easter!

Even here in England the weather went completely crazy and it was heavily snowing the last two days - for a little while it even looked like winter wonderland on Saturday - but only briefly though :-)

On Saturday my parcel from ebay arrived!

40 pieces of baby boys clothes for an absolute bargain price!

Also my lovely mother-in-law couldn't resist and gave us a few more adorable clothing items yesterday - and we took home the car seat we got given by Ryans cousin.

The heap is getting bigger by the day!!

A little worry

In a minute we will be off to visit Ryans Grandparents (the pair we don't see that often) and it's a bit of a drive - it's snowing and something like "winter-tyres" is non-existent in this country and I have obviously never driven there. But I'll manage :-)

As we were just sitting around to wake up and have our coffee (Ryan) and Actimel (me) I stared at the pile of our accumulated baby stuff. Everything we own concerning the bump is heaped up on our living room chair - where it belongs to of course :-)
But seriously - I know we want to move before he comes but if we don't take action soon I have to find room for all the stuff - the baby! - in our current flat!

Bounce is what tiggers do best!

Yesterday I was out shopping with Nadia and Heike and even though I have virtually no money to spend I couldn't resist and bought three romper suits for the little one.

And of course I can't keep them from you! :-)

The bouncing tigger seems to be very appropriate!

Oh boy!

Of course I am so happy about my baby!

By now I can imagine myself being a boys mummy :-)

In lightning speed I have already bought lot's of boy clothes - via ebay for very nice prices and most important of all (ha ha ha) I have decided on the children's room theme!

Just because I can't have pink I can still live out my far bigger obsession - red with white polka dots!

Yes toadstool style!

A boy can have an enchanted forest with lot's of little frogs, duckies, gnomes and elves, rainbows, stars AND toadstools!!

The lovely artistic ladies who occasionally read my blog - I am all open to your beautiful designs and if you have some suggestions for me - even better!

A few trophys!

At the moment I don't really get to update much on here - but a litle picture reminder that I am steadily getting bigger!

These pics were taken a week ago when I was in week 20!

On Friday the 29th Ryan could feel with his hands on my tummy the baby kick for the first time!

He was so excited and all choked up!

On Saturday we went to the big babyshow in London and thanks to the generousity of Ryans Mum and Nan we finally bought stuff for the little one!

Yehaa!

As we decided on re-usable real nappies we got some très chic waterproof wraps for the nappy-botty and some ecological friendly disosable ones for trips.

I also got my beloved Didymos sling (which I so wanted!!) and 2 sleeping bags (note on one the pea in the pod print). I found a lovely little cooking book for organic babyfood and some freezer-trays (time to get a freezer then, ey? :-))

And Ryan fell in love with that adorable red suit for the winter - it does remind me of Kasimir from Hallo Spencer....

When we came back we found Ryan's youngest sister with her school project - a computerised babydoll which she had to take care of for the whole weekend! The cyborg baby has sensors which recognise her as a "parent" (she was wearing a wristband with a chip) and it cried every few hours for the usual stuff - feeds, nappy change, cuddles. It even woke her several times a night!

Ryan had a training go with the little cyborg :-)
